two authors by “post by email” but post author name does not match sender

Hi there,
my blog has two people who are posting.
me – the administrator
and my partner, I added her as a user with the role “author”.
She only posts by the post-by-email function, but the blog does not recognize the sender of the email and always displays my name as author of the post instead of her name.
So I always have to manually log in to the blog and change the name of the author afterwards, but I want the blog to automatically see who is sending the email and then choose/display the according author name.
Is this somehow possible? I googled and researched the forum/support sites but did not find an answer :-(

When you contact support please send in her email address, the address she’s posting from and her WordPress.com username.

Each person needs their own secret email address on the blog. If your partner sends to her own address then it will appear under her account.

Here’s an odd thing. I put the Dusk theme up on my test blog and it does not appear that it’s one of the themes that are coded to display the author’s name on posts. :s

I think you are right with the secret email address for each author, but I did not find the option to generate an additional secret email address for my partner? I only can generate one for myself and thats it :-s@ hanni:

This theme indeed does not show the name of the author in the post, I am actually thinking about changing the theme because I want the guests to see the name of the author. However I added the author widget to the sidebar which allows the guests to choose the author and see their posts only,.. but still is not very comfortable when I need to react on each post of the partner and change the name of the author. :-/Thanks

schoblovski, yes, you can only generate them for yourself. Your partner will need her own account and she can generate one for herself there.

this worked out for me, I set up an own secret address on my partners wordpress account for my blog and now it works :-) thanks!
