two blogs getting muddled up
-
Sorry to be back. You guys must get sick of answering questions!
I started a new blog the other day. I had to log in as a new person (psychmum) as I didn’t want the same name (blaxter) for this new blog as the two are very different. First, my email address was refused as “already taken”, so I put in my reserve one and thought it might be a good idea in fact.
I started the new blog fine. But now when I sign in to either, it’s likely to bring up the wrong blog, or if in the right blog, when I want to see stats or write a new post, it sometimes brings up the page for the other blog, whichever way round it happens. I’ve tried signing out in between which is a pain and doesn’t always work.My question is: can you advise on how to have both blogs available but separate on the same computer (granted I am two different bloggers supposedly!). I have tried putting the urls on two separate “favourites”. I’m using the latest version of safari on a Mac and have no intention of changing for work reasons, but in any case Safari is running the new set-up fine till this two blogs business!
Thanks for any help. -
You can do this if you use different browsers for each. Sign in as one ID on one browser, say Safari, and sign in as the other on Firefox.

Thanks but I really don’t want to run a second browser. Is there any way of making WP read the url properly and take me there??
-
Yes: by logging out as one user and then logging in as the other, but you already said you don’t want to do this.

No, that’s fine, thanks. I didn’t say I wouldn’t sign in and out. I just wondered if there was something I was missing since I supposed that clicking My Dashboard etc in one blog should bring up the relevant dashboard anyway. Thanks for help. I’ll mark this closed.

No, there is one more thing, on re-reading.
Your blogs should only be connected at all if the two different IDs are both admins on one of the blogs. If each blog only has one administrator, then this is a bug and you will need to contact staff.
