    Hi there,

You can create as many blogs as you want on a single WordPress.com account, but each WordPress.com site is a single blog. You can link to one from the other if you wish.

You can also create categories of content and link to those category pages independently, so you could have one category about dogs and then have a link that shows just posts that have the dog category.

Will either of these options work for you? If you need more assistance with this, please let me know.

    I dont understand
There are pages and posts and posts are the blog
There is not a Posts 2 which would give me the space to start and continue on a second blog
I don’t want the second blog to be part of the first
I want to be able to have two separate blogs with separate subjects on the same site and with the same shared pages

    Hi there,

Each address such as abc.wordpress.com and xyz.wordpress.com is a single blog. You can’t have two separate blogs under abc.wordpress.com.

However, if you want two separate blogs on the same site, it can be done, but this is how you would do it:

    1) Create a website such as myawesomesite.wordpress.com
    2) Create one blog, blog1.wordpress.com
    3) Create a second blog, blog2.wordpress.com

That would be three separate WordPress.com blogs/sites.

Then on myawesomesite.wordpress.com, set it up to have a static front page showing rather than a blog page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Then add a custom menu with custom links that point to each of blog:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

So the menu of myawesomesite.wordpress.com would look something like this:

    Home | About | Blog 1 | Blog 2

    Does that make sense?

No it does not make sense.
    I have one site
    //beingwithless.wordpress.com
    This site has a Menu
It has static pages and one series of posts which is the Blog
Naming the blog is irrelevant – any post I do will join the other posts and be part of the blog
You do not name the blog only the entire site
My Menu has an item Blog
I think your directions may be for the .org
What I am thinking tho is that maybe I can take a Page and build on that page so there is more than one entry

  • The short answer is that there is no easy way to do that (as you can tell from Jackie’s suggestions). WordPress.com is set up to just have one “blog” per site.

However, there are a couple things that you can do to make it appear to your readers that there are two blogs on your site. For the sake of conversation, let’s call your current blog (at http://beingwithless.wordpress.com/) Blog A and the new one you want to make Blog B.

The easiest would be to do what Jackie suggests and set up a new WordPress.com site (perhaps http://beingwithless2.wordpress.com/) and have that be blog B. You could then place a link on http://beingwithless.wordpress.com/ next to your current “blog” link that would point to Blog B at http://beingwithless2.wordpress.com/.

Another option would be use the tagging system to split things up. You could tag all of Blog A’s posts with a particular tag (myblogA for example) and all of Blog B’s with another (myblogB for example) and then set up one page that shows all posts tagged with myblogA and another that shows all posts with myblogB. If you did not have a page that showed all posts regardless of tags, then it would look to readers as if there were two blogs on one site.

It is kind of complicated. But as I said, WordPress isn’t really set up to do what you want to do. So you will have to jump through a few hoops if you want to do it.

You are right. It won’t work. Maybe a suggestion for the future w WordPress?
I will use a Page to blog about Art and people will read it if they want to go to the Page. It’s not a blog what is it?

    Thank you all from JG

  • I can see that being something that some users might find useful to be able to do on WordPress.com. Allow me to encourage you to make a post suggesting it on our ideas/suggestions area of the WordPress.com support forums.

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas

The forums are monitored and it does make a difference to post there.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Yes I did post it in Ideas and I forgot to check follow the responses. Thank you!

  • Happy to help.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Otherwise, thanks for using WordPress.
