Two Different Sites??

    Help! I have had a WordPress account and a webpage for some time. Recently, it was suggested that I add Bluehost for better functionality. I did, and now it appears that I have two sites. I don’t know how this happened, and I want to merge them. Can anyone help me?

    Hi there,

    You can’t “add Bluehost” to a WordPress.com site. WordPress.com is a hosting provider, and so is Bluehost, and you can’t have a site hosted with two different providers at the same time.

    pfaconsultants is a brand new WordPress.com account, created around two weeks ago, which is connected to a new Bluehost site that appears to still be at their staging domain. The site is connected to this account via the Jetpack plugin.

    http://patientandfamilyadvocates.com/ is a site hosted on WordPress.com which belongs to a completely different account and which bought that domain from us February. The site itself has been around since July last year.

    So, knowing that, what would you like to do?

    Do you want to use the domain, patientandfamilyadvocates.com, with the new Bluehost site? Do you want to be able to manage the Bluehost site via the original WordPress.com account? Something else?

    Once we have a better idea of what your end goal is here, we can try and help you get things set up the way you want them.

    Thanks for clarifying.

    I am a bit confused, as I watched a WordPress YouTube video that said I had to have both. I don’t really care which site hosts my page, but here is what I am after:

    I want the domain name patientandfamilyadvocates.com.

    I want to be able to choose from different templates so the site isn’t too boring.

    I want to be able to keep my email address associated with my domain name.

    What do you recommend are my best options?

    There’s actually 2 different versions of WordPress and I suspect the video you’re referencing was for the open source WordPress installation. That’s very different from using us, at WordPress.com.

    Do you already own patientandfamilyadvocates.com?

    It appears that my WordPress and Bluehost account are linked, though; can you provide me with some direction on how to combine them into one?

    https://patientandfamilyadvocates.com/ is hosted on WordPress.com, not Bluehost.

    So, if you don’t have anything else hosted on Bluehost, it’s safe to close your account with them.
