Two domains
-
I have two domains registered at name cheap, Example.com and Example.net. I have Example.com mapped to a wordpress site. I was wondering if I could map Example.net to the SAME site – idea being i want both the .com and .net to lead to the same wordpress site.

wordpress.siteis vague. Are your referring to a free blog being hosted by WordPress.COM free of chàrge, or are you referring to a WordPress.ORG install you are self hosting?
-
If and only if you are referring to a WordPress.COM hosted blog see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
If you are referring to a WordPress.ORG software install then we cannot help you here. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I am referring specifically to a free wordpress site hosted at wordpress.com.
The first link helps a bit. I know I can map to a subdomain, but I am hoping I can map both domains (one being .com the other .net) to the same wordpress site, not a subdomain.

Then see here for the three options please http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
I do not have a definitive answer for you as I have never done this myself, so I tagged this thread for a Staff response. Another Volunteer may answer before they do. Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond.

Hi @westaygold,
I am hoping I can map both domains (one being .com the other .net) to the same wordpress site, not a subdomain.
Yep! You can definitely map both domains to the same site. Just follow the instructions here to add any additional domains you might own:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
However, while you can map multiple domains to your blog, only one domain will be set as the primary domain on your account. For example, if you map example.com and example.net, but you set example.com as the primary domain, example.net will automatically redirect to example.com if someone enters that address.
Let me know if you need any additional clarification!
