Are you referring to a free hosted wordpress.COM blog? It’s impossible to tell as you have not either linked your username to your blog or provided the complete url for the blog starting with http://
If so then your answer and what to do about it is found in the wordpress.COM support documentation http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/Hope this helps.

Having the same (or similar) problem with a free blog. Have tried all the troubleshooting stuff in the forums.
Here is the main link
http://lindashaferspeaks.wordpress.com/
I created a home page as a static landing spot (posts won’t happen until much later)
http://lindashaferspeaks.wordpress.com/home/
Also created a contact page
http://lindashaferspeaks.wordpress.com/contact/Site loads with 2 home tabs – one for each of the first two urls above
In the dashboard, I only have 2 pages available to edit aka hide: /home and /contact
Any help with correcting this will be greatly appreciated

@lindashafer: The answer is in the Support docs timethief linked to. Just edit the “Home” page you created to assign “Contact” as its parent.
By the way: since the theme you’re using displays page tabs in the header, the Pages widget is redundant.
