My web site,above, has two home pages and I cannot figure out how to get rid of the first one that I did not create. It cannot be edited at all.two,pages,

Thanks for the info. However; prior to posting my question I did search FAQ and found the Two FAQ’s that you mentioned. When I open the ‘Page Parent’ box, I have two options (Main Page (no parent) and About us). The Main Page (no parent)is the default and is selected now.
It seems to me that this unwanted home page is embedded in the Theme and can’t be deleted or edited as other pages are.
Am I right. I hope not.

The first one is built into the theme – you can’t remove it. If you want the second one to be your homepage, you must go to Settings > Reading and set it as a static front page. If you’re going to add posts, you must create a new blank page, name it “Posts” (or whatever you like) and set it as your posts page (also in Settings > Reading). Also go to Manage > Pages and set the “Home” page as a child to the “About” page, so that its tab won’t show in the header.
