I have previously answered your question and raincoaster has provided the link to my answer. We need to verify that i’ts actually a free hosted wordpress.COM blog that you are referring to. Then we can try to determine why the instructions that other wordpress.COM users use to successfully solve their same problem is not working for you.As you have yet to post the complete url starting with http:// for your blog, I’m asking you to do that now please.

yes this is a free hosted wordpress.com blog – when i follow the directions for timethief’s initial anwer i ended up with 3 home pages and two post pages. obviously i’m brand new to this.

I just noticed that the theme you chose to switch to is Blix. As Blix is a theme with a home tab and quirks I’m posting these links for you:

@lulusparkle1: Switching to a theme with no built-in home tab is one solution; the other solution can be found in the Support docs timethief linked to: turn the Home page you created into a child page (because the header displays parent pages only).
