Two photos for everyone one posted??

    Within the past week, when I post a photo/media at the top of my blog post, two copies of that picture are published. I’m using Baskerville 2 theme. I’ve tried changing browsers from Safari to Mozilla. I’ve used pre-prepared HTML posts and created my own with the same outcome. This is only a recent problem–within the last week. I did notice that Baskerville is now dubbed Baskerville 2…is this a new ‘feature’? Any suggestions for how to disable this?

    Hello @j1818,
    It maybe happening because your theme is picking up the first images as the featured image.

    So try this:
    1. REMOVE THE FEATURED IMAGE:
    Go to My Site(s) → Blog Posts and then click Edit on the post of which you want to remove the featured image. On the sidebar click on the Featured Image tab and then click the cross icon to remove the image. Click Update on the top right corner to save changes.

    Or

    2. DISABLE THE OPTION FROM THE SITE CUSTOMIZER:
    1. Go to My Site(s) → Customize(Beside the Themes option) or just click here: https://wordpress.com/customize/. This will open the site Customizer.
    2. On the sidebar of the Customizer click on the Content Options tab.
    3. At the very bottom, uncheck “Automatically use first image in post” option.
    4. Finally click Save & Publish.

    Thank you so much otpidusprime! Option two worked! I couldn’t figure out what “I” had done that created the mess.

    Any suggestions for a time-challenged blogger to learn more about WordPress?
