Two problems with new version:
1) Cannot add a link to my document
2) While document is in draft mode, title displays twice (the second time immediately following the first).
-
And now I can’t set in a paragraph like I used to. See
http://moneyedpoliticians.wordpress.com/2008/03/28/the-high-cost-of-for-profit-medicine/I think it’s back to the drawing boards, guys. Can we reinstate the old editor until these issues are fixed?
-
I think the link is now fixed (If no, try clicking on the add link then when the box is trying to load up right click on it and click on refresh, and that should get it working!)
Don’t worry… it will all be fixed in a few days I bet! (They have made numerous fixes thus far, so its only a matter of time….)
Cheers (sorry I couldnt help more)

I don’t like the new look at all. I can’t even put a text widget in my sidebar anymore. :(
-
-
No, I’ve tried to add a link between documents and I get a blank box and the note “Done, with errors on page” Pretty basic bit of functionality I’d have thought!
-
-
I’ll give that a try, thesacredpath. It would be nice to be able to set the path to a default so I don’t have to continually select it (but I can live with it if need be).

Keep the right click and refresh thing in your mind in case you come to any other blank windows or popups. What it does is force reload the javascript and such. The new wordpress takes advantage of some pretty powerful caching abilities in servers which is going to make everything much faster, but you might find times when you will have to force reload a frame or page.
-
I can’t get the link thing to work, either. The box isn’t blank, but I tried reloading it anyway. Still no go. I enter the link in the box and hit insert and nothing happens. Using Firefox 2.0.0.13

Not happy with this too-busy, overdesigned editor’s view. OMG. This is too horrible. Sorry – was it broke? If not, why did you ‘fix it’? I was satisfied with the former, functional and clean style. Editing widget text is now impossible. I’m already out of patience and my eyes are tired from this awful view. Very very unhappy!

Argh – new design is doing my head in! Sorry… I agree with Wolfmoonlady. And please please please put the spell checker back!!! Thanks :)

@wolfmoonlady
If you are using IE, try switching to Firefox until they get the IE bug with the widgets ironed out. I’ve had several people report that that has worked for them with the text widgets. Once the IE bug is fixed, you can then uninstall Firefox if you wish and go back to using IE.@vivian
I’m having no problems with FF in either windows or mac with the insert link function. I’m a little at a loss with suggestions for you. I expect you have cleared your cache. The only other thing I can suggest is to force reload the editor page itself. -
The spellchecker is being worked on by staff and they will get it sorted out. I’ve personally never used it and rely on the spellchecker available in my browsers which spellcheck as I write.
-
I can’t even find the spellchecker. Is there one in the new version? I sure hope. I’m an awful speller, and utterly dependent on spellcheck tools.
-
Yeah, IE7Pro add-on spellchecks too, but I had problems with mouse compatibility with it.
