two questions
-
Hi all, I’ve asked these questions before but have not gotten them resolved yet.
1. My dashboard is saying that the spam filter has protected my site from two spam comments, but there is nothing in my spam queue. How do I view these comments?
2. I want to disable a wiget, but I can’t seem to get it to go inactive. Any way I can do this using the accessibility mode? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. Spam on new posts is held for two weeks. Spam on older posts is deleted immediately, unless you go to Settings>Discussion and tick the option “Don’t discard spam on old posts”.
2. Disable the accesibility mode, then drag the widget from Sidebar to Inactive, or open it and click Delete.

So what you are saying is that I would need sighted assistance to disable the wiget? I think that should be fixed.

Have you added any widgets to your sidebar?
If you have not added anything to your sidebar, then the widgets there are the default-set of widgets that come with a theme (different for each theme).
Add a widget you want on your sidebar, then you will get rid of the default widgets. You will be free to add the widgets you want to have in your sidebar.
I don’t know how you access your blog, but you might need sighted assistance to add the widgets you want to have in your sidebar.

Ok, thanks. I added a few wigets, but I’m not sure if I added them to the sidebar or where I added them, it said first footer wiget area I think. These new ones are displaying on my blog, but it sounds like the old ones should be disappearing, which they are not.

Right now, you have custom widgets on “Primary Widget Area” only.
To remove the default widgets in empty widget areas, add a Text Widget and leave the text area empty. -
Ok, I get it now. When adding wigets to the area, use the links at the top of the page. This will always add a new wiget, you have to go down below the wiget area to find your active wigets. This also explains why the meta was consistantly showing up, because I thought I was changing the settings on an existing wiget, when I was actually creating a new one.
