Two Questions (‘Read More’ and ‘Show/Hide Pictures’)

  • Unknown's avatar

Just a couple of questions about a non-upgraded wordpress.com blog.

    1) The first is related to using the <!– more –> function. When you click on the read more as a reader, it automatically jumps you to where you left off in the post. Is there anyway to modify this so that it will jump you back to the top of that particularly post?

    2) The second, is actually two questions. Is adult content allowed on wordpress blogs? If it is, can I tag my blog in such a way that will warn people? The second is: is there a way to create a button to show or hide selected sections (pictures in this case) in a blog?

    Thanks!

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

If you don’t understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

    1) No, there is no way to modify that.

2a) Yes, and if you report your own blog as Mature (using teh drop down Report As Mature on the admin bar) then your blog will be excluded from tag and category pages and searches, the Random Next Blog button, and your name will not link to the blog; these are precautions to prevent people from accidentally coming to your blog when they’re not aware of the contents. You still show up in external search engines, etc.

2b) Put them after the Read More tag.

Since your blog is private and we cannot view it, which theme are you using? In some themes you can avoid the more tag effect you don’t like if you use the post Excerpt instead.
