Two Quick Questions

    Hi,

    1. I’m going to be writing a RTW trip blog. When I’ve finished is there a way of downloading the entire blog in correct html format to hard disk other than saving each page individually?

    2. Is it possible to create a wordpress blog on my own webspace (yahoo) then after a few months transfer it over to the free wordpress server? I want to take advantage of the added functionality when setting up my blog (load plug-ins etc.) but not while on the road round the world when free wordpress web-space makes more sense.

    Appreciate any info’.

    Cheers,
    Duncan

    Hi dlaird,

    1. There are programs to download websites automagically which would save you considerable time doing this, for example these are available free at download.com. If you could give more information about what you’re wanting might be able to find a better method.

    2. I think there are blog-import tools available, so it’s certainly not impossible I’ve just never done it. It’s worth remembering that any plugins/etc. you set up on a host such as Yahoo! will not be transferred over to wordpress.com so it may be wasting time to set them up in the first place.

If you’ve not done already have a mess around with the wordpress blog you’ve got setup & see what it can do – there is a lot of plugin functionality available here on the various themes, which might already do what you’re looking for elsewhere.

Nice name for your blog by the way!

The blog import is possible. Do a search for RSS2MT for a walkthru on it.
