Two sites being confused

In 2014 or 15 I contacted WordPress about changing the login to a site set up by my job predecessor and was told that wasn’t possible because I didn’t have the pw. I set up a new account and used that until March. Now my pw for that account is opening the old account but won’t work for the account I’ve been using for the past 5 years. Please help.

Wordpress.com accounts are in no way related to eachother as the email address is the unique identifier. Meaning it’s not the password that determines which accounts opens but it’s the email address.
If you no longer knows the password for a wordpress.com account you can very easily change the password by clicking ‘Forgot the password’, https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ -
I understand that. But I’m sure the email for the account I can’t get into is correct (it’s my work email and this is for work) and I keep a file of passwords so I know that the password I was trying was correct for that account. I was never able to get into the other account as it belonged to someone else. Now I can only get into that account and not the one I created. All of my posts since I opened the account are on my account with the exception of the October one – which showed up on my predecessors account — which I wasn’t supposed to be able to access (and had never been able to access) because I didn’t have her login (and she would have set it up with a different email). This is very frustrating. There are no posts on her original account from 2014 to October 2020 – when I must have gotten in to her account and posted there accidentally thinking it was my account. The account I have been using has my posts starting in November, 2014, with the last one in March 2020. The October post was supposed to be on that account but isn’t. Somehow (even though you say it can’t happen) the two accounts have switched logins or something else happened to them. I hope you can help because I really do not want to start over — again! I would like to be able to access my account. Is there a way to see what email is listed for each account? I still have the email I received when I opened the account that I can’t get into anymore and my correspondence about the account I wanted to get into but couldn’t because it wasn’t mine. Sorry for the wordiness.

Wordpress.com can’t and won’t reveil the email address connected to an account. As you still have I still the email you received when you opened the account, you can restore access at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
Regarding the account that isn’t yours, only the owner of that account is able to help you. -
Again, I understand the privacy policy. I am not trying to find out the login information for my predecessor’s account — I am trying to find out the login for my account. I have been using my account since 2014. When I go to the link or try to login it takes me to my predecessor’s account — not the one I’ve been using since 2014. Her last post was in December, 2014. My first post was in October, 2014 after finding out there was no way to update hers (it was the blog for our Instructional Materials Center – these are not personal blogs). If you look at the blogs https://wordpress.com/view/wdmcsimccutandglue.wordpress.com and https://wdmcsdimc.wordpress.com/ you’ll see what I mean. I want to be able to post to the wdmcsimc site but my October post is on the cutandglue site (not my account). I really could use some help. The original link I received when I signed up in October now takes me to the cutandglue site. This is the original email I received:

It seems you have access to this site so I would like to clarify what is the URL of the site you are trying to access? Is it wdmcsdimc.wordpress.com? That site is listed in our system but is under a different account login, and uses a different email address from the one you are using for your @imcuser1 account.
To gain access to wdmcsdimc.wordpress.com you will need to recover the password for that account, it cannot be accessed from your @imcuser1 account.
