two sites one email login

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I have an old wordpress site (createplayponder) that has expired (intentionally). However I now have a new page https://stopgivingstartliving.com (hosted by GoDaddy) and i cant log in to because it takes me to the old site! I use the same email to login, but have forgotten my pwd for my new site! When I use the forgotten password link it takes me to the old site (and old pwd).
Can i please get createplayponder.wordpress.com deleted, so it doesn’t come up anymore please? Thanks, Emma

  • Hi Emma,

Right now you’re logged into your account at WordPress.com. You have a site on our free plan, http://createplayponder.wordpress.com, that you used to have connected to the domain, createplayponder.com

This site and account has absolutely no connection to your site over at GoDaddy: You’re being taken to your WordPress.com site because you’re logging into your WordPress.com account. To access your site at GoDaddy, you need to log into the admin user account for that site at https://www.stopgivingstartliving.com/wp-login.php

If you’ve forgotten your password, you need to use the lost password link there to reset it. If that doesn’t work, you can find the other password reset options for the open source WordPress.org software you’re using on that site at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/. You can also try contacting GoDaddy support directly, and they should be able to help you regain access to your site.

If you still want to delete your WordPress.com site, you can do so from Settings ->General, but that won’t have any effect at all on your GoDaddy site or your ability to access it.
