anyone got any thoughts for me ?… I currently don’t have a cell phone, my fiancee does but it’s insanely basic meaning you can’t download apps or scan anything like that barcode…

I guess this means that I can’t use the Two Step Authentication is there hope for my blog if things get attacked ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Two Step Authentication is recommended, but not a must. What is a must is having a strong and unique password and making sure you log out when you leave the site. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/

You aren’t required to have Two Step Authentication, and if you have a strong, unique, hard to crack password (has capital letters, numbers, symbols, etc) and you are careful with that (as well as your email’s password since that can be used to reset your password) it’s not overly necessary. All Two Step Authentication does is give you a little more peace of mind that nobody is going to be able to get into your blog. So you don’t have much to fear if you don’t have it.

But I believe you can set up SMS codes if you don’t have a smartphone, just follow the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/#setup-with-sms-codes Make sure you print out backup codes in case your phone gets missing, otherwise it’ll be a real pain to try to regain your blog.
