Two Step Authentication Codes Not Working

  I’ve been having trouble with the two step authentication. WordPress is not accepting the codes that Google Authenticator on my cell phone is generating. This leaves me unable to do anything because I need the codes to have access to the areas I need to update and fix this.

  Hi there. When you set up two-step verification, did you print out the backup codes? Have you tried them yet?

  If you don’t have the backup codes or they don’t work either, you’ll need to complete the Account Recovery Form to regain access to your account. Then staff will contact you via email to try and help you resolve this: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

  Worth checking your phone has the right time. For a while my service provider’s time sync was out and this stopped authentication working.
