Two-Step Authentication has ruined my life.
-
My blog (whatisexperience.com) is linked to Two-Step Authentication with my American phone number, which no longer exists. My login is lyndajoygerry for that account. On May 10th, Alicia gave me a backup code for the Two-Step Verification to deactivate it, and I did, yet it is still not deactivated. This means that I cannot log into my WordPress account, which actually gave me a huge emotional breakdown today (sobbing uncontrollably for about an hour). Please, please, please, please please help me deactivate Two-Step Authentication permanently.

Hi,
I totally understand how frustrating it is when you’re locked out of any account, especially one as personal as your own blog. I’ve taken a look at the available support documentation for you.
Here is the direct link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/
I know that you’ve reached out to support before. In this case however, I think that might be the only alternative that you have left. When you first turned off the authentication, where there any signs that something wasn’t fully completed in the deactivation process? I know I’m not one of the support team at Automattic but, I just want to try my best to get you on the right path.

Hi @lyndajgerry, are you able to respond to the note Alicia had sent? That’d probably the fastest path to validation.
