Two-Step Authentication is too annoying! How do I get rid of it?

So I’ve got this two step thing and it does nothing but slow me down, especially since I use multiple computers. I open up the authenticator app and I don’t even know what to enter for a key or anything. The only help I’ve got is about how to reset my account. I want to make sure everything stays the way it does, just get rid of this hideous two-step authentication. How can I possibly do that?

The problem is I can never get the code. The authenticator app asks for a key I don’t know and then I can’t even get the back-up codes.

Since you are logged in and posting to the forum, you should be able to go here:
https://wordpress.com/settings/security/
to generate backup codes.
