Two step authentication not working on ipad

    A while back I installed the 2-step authentication and have had no problems using it on my laptop, and when signing into the app on my iPhone.

    But yesterday I tried logging into the app on my iPad and it keeps saying “Sorry we cant log you in; this account has 2-step authentication enabled. Please configure an application-specific password to use with this application”

    How do I do that? I’m obviously using the same username and password that I use on my laptop (which takes me automatically to the 2-step authentication page), and my phone app is constantly logged in (I’m nervous to try signing out and in again in case it locks me out of my phone too.)

    I have the same issue on an iPad that only has wifi. I tried setting up access using “Application Passwords”. The password comes up, but there is nowhere to enter the password when using the iPad. The “Sorry we can’t log you in; this account has 2-step authentication enabled. Please configure an application-specific password to use with this application” message only has the option of an OK button and then it returns to the initial login screen.

    I finally found a patch to get around this issue that bugged me since I have accepted the 2 steps authentication code.
    By the way it was working on my iPad but not my iPhone.
    What you need to do is:
    1) from your laptop, invite yourself as author/administrator through a different address email that the one you signed-up for your blog.
    2) accept the invite and create for a “dummy” administrator blog then accept the invite. You have now a second access to your blob as an author/administrator through this different address.
    3) Sign-in from your iPad or iPhone through this second address, the next screen displays the 2 blogs available to you (your genuine blog and your dummy blog); you select your genuine blog and then it will prompt you to enter the authentication code. You enter it and VOILA!
