Two Step authentication set up and can't disable

  i got half way through authenticating my account with the app (the two step authentication). It became too complicated (I needed to start disabling other things on my computer to allow it etc and so I deleted the app and didn’t complete the process). I thought this would mean that I hadn’t set it up. However when I go to my security settings the two step authentication has been enabled. I now can’t disable it because I can’t generate any new codes and I’m not sure whether this is going to create a lot of problems (and shut me out of my account) or whether I will just get a code sent to my mobile phone and there’s nothing to worry about.

  If you were using iPhone app, then you can try downloading it again and see if you are able to get back.

  While you are on the Security settings page, are you able to generate backup codes?

  Unfortunately 2 FA is not something I’d be keen to play with as it could potentially disable my own account.

  I will generate backup codes and see if I can help with your situation.

  I did try downloading the app again but I couldn’t generate anything without a code. I don’t want to play with it anymore!
