  Two Step Authentication. What if you don’t have a mobile?

  I don’t own a cell phone, never have and do not want. I tagged this thread for a Staff response. :) Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

  You will need some sort of mobile device, but it doesn’t have to be a cell phone.

  For example, the Google Authenticator app for iOS will work on any iOS device, including iPads and iPod Touches, and the same is true for the Google Authenticator app for Android.

  Ultimately, Two Factor Authentication is just an option (a great option that you should enable if you can), but it’s not a requirement.

  Whew! That’s what I wanted to hear as I don’t ever want any mobile device near my head. I’ve had head injuries, have migraines and a damaged optical nerve and I don’t need any additional complications.

  Even the buzzing of fluorescent lights now bothers both my eyes and ears and triggers migraines. Remarkably, (thank gawd because I sing and I would be crushed if making music was not in my life ) most music (heavy metal exempted) doesn’t cause any symptoms.

  Yes, my passwords are unbelievably difficult.
  No password is used on more than one site.
  None in any way shape or form contain any email address or blog address or name anything anyone could guess from reading my blogs.

  Ooops. As I have no i pad, i pod touch etc, I’m just going to have to settle for a strong password. Timethief has the award which I am a long way from acquiring….. :( Thanks!
