Two-step Authentification – Lost Phone, Lost Backup Codes, No Transaction ID
-
Hi,
Can someone please help me?
I never really used WordPress but now I need to start using it. However, I set up a two-authentification process on my account, but lost the *.txt with my backup codes. Also, I don’t have the phone number which I registered anymore, because I moved back and forth from and to three countries in the past three years and I don’t remember when I exactly created this account, neither which number I had on, and even if I remember it wouldn’t make any difference because I don’t have these numbers anymore. It could be my French number (redacted), or my US number (redacted), or a Brazilian number (redacted). Now I have a different BR number, because I am back in Brazil.
I also don’t quite remember the URL I used for the single website I created (just to see how it works) on this account, but I think it was guidotim.wordpress.com.
I still have access to my e-mail, and I actually reset the password, but I am stuck on the two-step authentification process. I created this account only to post on the forum.
Can someone please help me to access my original account?

I found the activation link on an e-mail from 30 Oct of 2015 and I found this link as well: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
However, it says that as my registered e-mail is the same as my contact e-mail, I should just reset my pass. But my problem is the lost phone and backup codes.
And also says that my activation link is invalid, but it’s the one I have it. How can it be invalid?
(redacted)
Please, help.

Now I tried to fill the form with my second account information and explaining what is happening in the textbox, including my first and unaccessible account information.
However, it keeps saying that the activation link is invalid, although I just received one for my second account!
This seconc account was created only so I could post here, seeking for help with my first and only official account.
Please, help. This is nuts. I can’t believe I’ll lost the account because I lost the codes and change my phone number. I can’t find any direct link of contact.
Please, help.

@leosyafira – two step authorization is not set up on your account.
There is a glitch in our system that prevented you from receiving the activation e-mail from us. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, I have fixed the issue on our end, so you should be ready to go. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Piggybacking on this request. I have a similar problem where I’ve had my WP.com account for ages and lost my backup codes. I recently had to get a new phone and changed my phone number so I lost access to my Authenticator, so I am locked out of my WP account.

Hey @ianmullere11a4eae4c,
To keep things in order, can you create a new thread and add the modlook tag to notify staff? It will be easier for us to handle your ticket in a newly generated ticket:
