Two urls, but one doesn't show up?
-
Hello,
Currently I have two wordpress.com domains.
mbreads.wordpress.com
and
madalynbeck.wordpress.comWhile mbreads runs smoothly, I can’t seem to get to madalynbeck through my listed sites. It also doesn’t appear to work properly. I can create a post draft and create categories, but if I go in to edit the name of a category or anything through the backend, it doesn’t work. Rather it says this content may have been deleted, yet it hasn’t. Can someone tell me if there is a way to fix this?
Thank you,
-MBThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks. However, I’m not sure what you mean by “linked.”
I can’t seem to get to madalynbeck through my listed sites.
I don’t know what you mean by that.
but if I go in to edit the name of a category or anything through the backend, it doesn’t work. Rather it says this content may have been deleted, yet it hasn’t.
It’s odd that this would happen on one site in the account and not the other. Are you attempting to edit categories at the wp-admin Categories page, https://madalynbeck.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category?
-
Yes, that is where I’m attempting to edit.
But this is the larger problem. If I go under My Sites in the top left, only mbreads is shown and not madalynbeck. It’s almost like I don’t have madalynbeck, and yet, when I put the url into the address bar, I can access everything including admin information.
-
I find that the site https://madalynbeck.wordpress.com/ presently has no published posts, with no categories assigned, and the one default “About” page, and evidence that the site title and tagline have been edited. Have you attempted to create and publish a post, edit the “About” page, or create another page?
-
I just published a post. That seems to work fine.
I can use the site for the most part smoothly. Even the backend seems to look different from my mbreads backend. And the fact that it doesn’t show up under ‘My Sites’
-
If I go under My Sites in the top left, only mbreads is shown and not madalynbeck.
So it’s not listed at https://wordpress.com/stats/insights? Or you don’t see it listed if you click the “Switch sites” link at https://wordpress.com/stats/day?
If so, I don’t know what is causing the issue. Normally this would only occur if the missing site were in a different account. And if it were in a second account it wouldn’t, I think, matter if madalynbeck had been invited to be user, accepted, and been assigned to a contributing user role on the second account.
I’d suggest that you add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

Okay, good.
Even the backend seems to look different from my mbreads backend.
Well, wp-admin backend is quite different than the My Sites backend. That’s to be expected.
-
You can visit the wp-admin dashboard on https://mbreads.wordpress.com/ as well by adding the extension ‘wp-admin/’ to the URL, giving you https://mbreads.wordpress.com/wp-admin/.

I might be wrong about this. Haven’t used My Sites much, and though I have multiple accounts all but one have been pretty much inactive for a few years.
-
Thank you for trying to help. I added the tag, so hopefully someone can figure out why my site is acting strangely. I appreciate it!
-
Hi @madalynbeck, each site should only have one address. Looks like this one got stuck halfway through a name change. Which one did you intend to keep?
-
Do I only have one? I thought I had two.
I should have mbreads.wordpress.com and madalynbeck.wordpress.com.
-
Ah, okay. I misread our logs :)
Can you try going here?
https://madalynbeck.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogsYou should see both sites. If one says hidden, can you mouse over and choose “make visible” to see if that will help?
