two users on one PC, two different wordpress accounts, can't post as second

    two users share the computer. One already has a wordpress account with her email address. The other has opened an account to read a different blog but when the second tries to post she is asked to sign on with the first username. Can read the second blog just can’t post without signing in as user 1. And user 1 is not part of the private group

    The issue is that WordPress.com recognizes us by cookies. Two people using the same computer means each of you must log out and clear your browser cache and cookies before the other logs in. You cannot have the computer set up to “remember” who you are or you end up in this mess.

    One way you might work around this issue of separate accounts on one computer is to have different browsers for each account / person.

    I have a few separate personae, two of which I use daily. The easiest way to work as though I’m more than one person is to have one browser (Safari) for work, and another browser for my personal blogs (Firefox).

    @Tess
    Good evening and good idea!

    Yes, it works well enough. I think Firefox plays nicer with wp.com than other browsers, but Safari and Chrome both do okay too. Forget Opera, and being a Mac user I have no idea what any version of Explorer does…
