TXT record cannot be created
-
I am setting up a third party email provider, which needs to verify that i own the domain via a txt record. Usually you just leave txt name either @ or empty, but wordpress is telling me that is an invalid name. Same with a MX record. you normally do not add a host name for a MX record.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction please?

I was having a similar problem with TXT as well, but could substitute it with CNAME. However, when it comes to the MX, the problem starts.
My third party email provider cannot assist me as well since WordPress must have changed their interface recently and that filling in the particular field becomes mandatory.
Would really appreciate anyone’s help here. Thank you.

Is there a way to get hold of WordPress.com actual technical support as this is looking like a error with the interface not recognizing the different requirements for each record type?

Hi there!
That’s a bug we’ve been already working on to fix it.
Meanwhile, you may edit your DNS records in this page here: https://wordpress.com/my-domains/

Sure thing! Just add the modlook tag to this thread and a staff member will answer it. For more info on how to get help in the forums, please, refer to this support page:
