Type in search result page

    Hi, The search result page has an extra word that is not needed.

    When it finds nothing, it says: “Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.”

    How can I take out the word “some” because it is not needed?

    Thank you for your help.

  • This is some that’s baked within WordPress as a part of the platform. I don’t think this can be customized by a WordPress.com user.

    If you are on a self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site, I guess this could be done by editing the template files, which I think is possible with WordPress.com sites too using the Business plan.

    While I am not very sure about the answer, I suggest you to wait for other WordPress.com members’ replies here. Or, a WordPress.com Happiness Engineer might have a suggestion too. Thanks.

  • Hi there – strikebuys is correct, it’s not possible to edit the wording there.

  • Looks like you found a CSS workaround:

    .search-no-results .page-content p {
    	display: none;
    }

    .search-no-results .page-content:before {
    	content: "Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with different keywords.";
    }

    Good solution for those with access to custom CSS!
