Typed wrong email address when signing up

Hi,
I signed up for a new account today, but accidentally typed in the wrong email address and now I can’t validate it as the email address is not mine/not in use.
The address I typed was (email visible only to moderators and staff) for the url sofuckinghonest/wordpress.com. The real email is (email visible only to moderators and staff).
Can you please change it or is it not possible?

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Type both the incorrect and correct email addresses here please. The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
You can update the email address linked to your account in your account settings. That will send an email to the new address you enter there, and you can click the link in that confirmation email to complete the change.

Thanks. I’ve tried logging in to my new account, but unfortunately I can’t access it, it claims I’ve got the wrong username or password. So I can’t change my email address. Can you help?

If you’re not able to log in to the account to make that change, please follow the steps in our Account Recovery guide to regain access to it. (You’ll need to regain access to the account before any changes can be made.)

I’ve filled out the account recovery form now, but am unable to submit it as I get a message saying, “We could not find an account that matches your login.”
What do I do now? Are you guys able to manually get into my account and fix it?

Hi there,
Sorry, my mistake! I just checked again and I see that the site sofuckinghonest.wordpress.com is still free — it looks like the signup didn’t go through, so you can actually start over and sign up with the correct email address now.
To do that, please be sure to log out of your current WordPress.com account and head to the signup page to sign up for that account and site again:
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/

I wish I could say it was all sorted now, but when trying to sign up again now I got this message, “This username and url is currently reserved but may be available in a few days.”
When I signed up last time I was told I’d been sent a verification email (but naturally I did not receive this), so the registration must have gone through. However, since I can not log in to my account and it claims it’s reserved, what may be the issue here?

It can sometimes take a few days for the username and URL to become available again after someone tries to sign up with them. Can you give it another try and see if it goes through this time?
