typepad and myspace users

I’m wondering if any wordpress bloggers who also have typepad and myspace accounts would like to tell us what’s going on at these two sites. Bloggers I know are complaining about hiccups in both systems, problems with “music” in myspace and and say they have serious issues with downtime in typepad. They are newbies like me and have been asking me about WordPress. I’ve been reporting that I’m a happy camper so come on over. I won’t be surprised if we get another influx.

For the record, I run *1* install of MovableType for a client and it’s pretty much hands off since they pay for their own support. Insert standard “this is just what I know and none of it is offical” disclaimers.

Typepad’s parent company, sixapart, seems to be moving away from their blogging/ community roots and more towards a more professional/ corporate appearance. There was an article about the method they used to announce their latest upgrade of their service. They released a press release instead of making the announcement via one of their blogs. Also it appears, that one of their staff regulars left a few months ago without an announcement.

They also appear to be having a large amount of downtime recently.

Thanks for the links Mike. They explain why the folks I talked to were spitting nails and saying they felt they were being snubbed in favour of big business.
