Types of music files accepted
-
I tired to upload an mp3 file that I legally purchased, but it says it does not meet security requirements. What type of music files can I upload and use?
-
Do you have the space upgrade? If not, see:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/what-filetypes-can-i-upload/
If you do have that upgrade, it does seem like a strange error. -
I had the same problem. I do not have the space upgrade and Andrew’s link addresses my problem. Darn!
Guess they’ll be selling a lot more upgrades. . . .

A question (sorry to piggyback, pohaver—maybe this will help you, too). I wonder which upgrade a person would need to upload music? Would the 5 GB be enough to add a few songs now and then? If songs are generally 3-5 MB, it seems 5 GB would be a lot, wouldn’t it?

I do not have the space upgrade, but didn’t think I would need it for one song. Guess I’ll have to check it out.

@pohaver, for just one song, I wouldn’t buy the space upgrade. I’d probably use Google Page Creator. See this thread:

@wyrdbyrd, yes 5 GB is more than enough to add a few songs now and again. -

Same solution: You’ve got to either host them elsewhere and hotlink them, or use an approved format here like Odeo podcasts.
