typing in description for photo

i am using the ambiru theme, and when i upload a photo i type in a description but it does not show up on the blog. only the photo shows up.

Using firefox 2.11 and IE7 I see the image without any problem. Which browser and version of it are you using, please?

If so you can simply copy it and then your can edit the post and paste it in and save it.

i am using 2.11 firefox. i do find the description in manage — upload. but, i still don’t see it when i view the blog. i tried to copy and then edit the post, paste and save. but i am still unable to see it on the blog. thanks.

Can you try this please -> Manage -> Posts
Finfd the post and click on “edit”.
In the editor’s box paste the description you have copied from uploads beneath the image and then click “Save”. -

YAY! Yes, I do believe that you may have to do it every time. I’m not positive because I never use the description bit on the uploads myself.

ok, one more thing. above the description there is “title”. that is not showing up on the blog either. but when i copy it and try to paste ABOVE the photo in manage–posts, the cursor will not allow me to do so. it only deletes the photo. ?

when i go to manage–posts, i see my title of my post which is splendid eye candy, but underneath that where i have to option to upload an image with a description, that image also has the option of having a title. and when i originally uploaded my photo with a title and description, the title didn’t show up on the blog either. sorry if i didn’t mention that before. so then i tried to do what i did before that solved the description problem, but i was unable to do so. i want that title for that particular image to come before the image, so that way it is TITLE, IMAGE, DESCRIPTION. make sense? sorry….

I never ever fill in any of that stuff at all. Maybe I should but I don’t. So, I’ll just step back and let another blogger lend you a hand.

@Vivian: I think that’s what the blogger is saying.
The title and description do not show up on the blog. Period. The title is a part of the code, and will show when someone saves the image or clicks on Properties. The description becomes text which appears only when someone holds their cursor over the image.
If you want those things to appear on the blog as text or a caption, you’ll have to type them in yourself.

I tried that when first starting out at wordpress.com and never got the title of description to show up at or near the image. I think what you are wanting is a caption and neither title nor description will give you that.

the description is displaying just fine, if you read the conversation b/t myself and timethief, you’ll see what i did to get it to appear. BUT, the title that goes along with the image and description of the image is not showing up on the blog. i copied and pasted and it shows now, however, it’s not where it should be and where i want it to be. i want it to be title (of the image), image, then description. i copy and pasted to the right of the image, because it wouldn’t allow me to copy and paste above the image. thanks!
