Typing into the photo caption box
-
Captions don’t appear in full, in fact the description appears in the blog but unless I am doing something wrong the caption never does. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you link me to a page or post on your site where I can see an example of this problem?
Thanks for the additional info!

Sorry don’t know how to “link” you to a page but i did try to type extended captons into my most recent blog, the caption appears as I type it in the box on the right of the page but then I can’t find it after the blog has been published. The most recent blog was Annabella’s remaining possesions
Thanks. It is just probably something I am doing wrong I am very new to this. -

No problem. All you need to do is copy and paste the URL that appears in your address bar when you are on that page or post. So this is the link to your most recent post: http://explorer1blog.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/annabellas-remaining-possesions/
One thing that I noticed when I visited the post is that there were captions visible under each image, as shown in this screenshot:
https://cloudup.com/cWy1KwyXZrAThat is where captions are supposed to appear under images, so are you entering this text somewhere else? If so, can you describe in a bit more detail where you are typing this, and what steps you are performing.
Thanks for the additional info!

In this post I first click new post, it asks what type, I click Photo, it allows one (1) photo, I then publish post and click edit to add further photos, I get the option of selecting one i have already added to “media file”, which is a bit silly because they have already been used, or to “upload image”. I select upload and choose one from my Iphoto files. Once the photo is uploaded to media files “Title” “caption” and “description” can be added to to boxes on the right. Title is OK, Caption is OK, description never does.
This is probably where I go wrong, I should include everything in the caption box because the description never appears anywhere
Does that make sense
Thanks -
Sorry, but a little more info, I did actually type into the description of one of those three just to see if you could find it. Maybe I am doing this wrong but the way I figured it was, The Blog Title was just that, a short info bar that invites people to read the Blog, The Caption would be a short info bar about the photo and the description would provide any of the in depth details about the photo, the Who How Where What and Whys etc.
That was why it has been a little frustrating, I have been putting quite a bit of detail into some of the description and they just disappear.
Thanks

Hi there – Try picking Text instead of Photo for the type of post. You can add photos to a Text post. The Photo selection is meant for posting single photos with a different kind of style applied to the post.
If you use text, you can upload your multiple images without having to save and edit, you can add captions to your images, and you can enter any text about them directly into the body of the post.
That way, your post title will show as well.
You can edit your previous posts from here:
https://explorer1blog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=312&action=editAnd choose “standard” rather than “image” from the post format box:
https://cloudup.com/clDmG1js16GI’ve never been very clear on where the description setting within each individual image appears. I think that some themes use it and some don’t. I’d recommend putting any text you want to add to description directly in the post body above or underneath the photo.
If you’d like to change the title and tagline at the very top of your site, you can do that in Settings->General here:
