typing links into "TEXT" for sidebar

  • Unknown's avatar

I am new to wordpress and typed in a link into the text widget and it did not highlight. Then I tried typing the link in using an HTML format. The HTML format for the link didn’t even appear on the blog when I checked. I read somewhere on the tutorials that you can switch to HTML in the text widget but there is nothing that allows you to switch from what I can see and I tried several times. Am I doíng something wrong or missing something? I would appreciate a walk thru on this. Thanks so much!

The Text widget is an HTML editor – no switch. For coding see here:

I looked at your other posts and was impressed that you started out not knowing a whole lot about wordpress and chuckled when you wrote that you felt like running away in terror; LOL, and you are quite knowledgeable now. How long did it take you? I’m just starting out with WP and would like to become really expert at knowing my way around so I can create a really awesome blog. You wouldn’t happen to offer tutoring services; do you?

Your detailed explanation of how to insert a link into the sidebar text widget was very detailed and helped a lot. Thank You!

    Best,

    You’re welcome!
Can’t say how long it took me: the basics are easy to master; the rest are probably a never-ending story.
No I don’t offer tutoring services, but I think my blog can help you: that’s what it’s there for! And you’re welcome to ask questions.
