Typing new characters deletes the next characters

  Hi,
  I’m writing a blog post and I’ve nearly finished. But, when I’ve taken bits out and added things in the additions start deleting the next characters and I can’t stop it, it’s deleting things I need in the post. This is so frustrating. Any help would be appreciated!

  Are you on a Mac or PC? It sounds like you accidentally turned on “forward delete” on your keyboard.

  Hi defectivebutyoung,

  It sounds like you might have the ‘overwrite’ feature activated on your computer’s keyboard!

  If you are on a PC, try hitting the “Insert” key. This might toggle you back to normal (not forward) delete. Tell me what happens.

  I found this tip, it’s two years old but may help:

  “For Windows 8 you must press function (fn) before pressing insert (which is also the print screen key)”
