Typing www and non-www render different pages

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

We are typing in: http://www.gourmetgetaways.com.au and gourmetgetaways.com.au (without www) and are pointing us to different pages in our website.

    My questions are:

    1. With our WordPress version of 4.1, is there a way we can easily make these two www/non www point to each other?
    2. Are the stats affected by the change?

We hope you could help us as soon as possible. We feel our readers don’t see that we are updating the pages when they go to www.

    Thanks heaps!

    Julie

    Hi Julie,

Since your site at gourmetgetaways.com.au is a self-hosted WordPress site and your domain isn’t registered here at WordPress.com, there’s not much the WordPress.com support staff can do to help with this domain issue.

I checked your domain’s public WHOIS information here:

    http://who.is/whois/gourmetgetaways.com.au

I see that your domain is registered with GoDaddy, so I’d recommend contacting GoDaddy support and ask them about how your domain is set up. They can help you make any changes you need to your domain’s settings so both the www and non-www versions of your domain point to the same place. (That will also help ensure your stats are tracked consistently.)
