I wished to purchase http://fherbert.com; however, the new domain reads: fhebert.com—no doubt a typo made my me. How can I recover?

You cannot edit any URL. You have to claim a refund and start all over again.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard
http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refundsNote: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

Thanks for your quick response. I interpret it to mean that I do not qualify for a refund because it was a domain registration.
I will purchase another, more suitable domain name. How do I get rid of the domain name that I typed wrong?
Thanks for your assistance to this 84 year old dummy. -
I worked the domain management and have registered with proper spelling and cancelled wrong domain name. All may be well.

Hi Fred,
I do see the incorrect domain name still associated with your account. If you give me permission, I’d be glad to remove that for you. Just say the word!
Cheers!

Thanks—-please remove the incorrect domain name—-can you make me happy by refunding the money I paid for it?

Hi Fred,
I went ahead and removed this and refunded you. I don’t know if that will make you happy, but I am certainly willing to try! :)
It can take up to 7 days for you to see the charge reversed on your bank statement. It usually takes less time than that, however.
Cheers!
