  I host with uk2 net and they seem affiliated with wordpress so di I need 2 accounts

  you do not need 2 accounts. So, if you have a domain you want to use at WordPress.com that you have hosted elsewhere, you do indeed have the option to map or transfer that domain.

  1st you will need a plan

  2nd you need to map the domain to wp.com

  there is another option of transferring the domain to wordpress
