    If you are referring to a warning message on your dashboard use the link in ti to contact Staff please.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Looked at one Post – it is full of spam – why should they remove the warning if you still have lots of spam?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes, please mark the spam comments as spam. Is there a reason you want so many spam comment on your site? Do you need some guidance about which comments are spam?

  • Unknown's avatar

    the same thing happen with me. I always kick the potential spam comment. But suddenly the warning appear. i already check the comments, and didn’t find any spam. Or is it considered a spam when they leave a link? Many of them are wordpress and others blog provider site. Also some bloggers leave link refer to their blog. Is it also considered spam scheme? Please give me a suggestion. Thanks all.

    btw, my blog is bodats.wordpress.com
    i use the “check spam” button to check for more spam, but there are no warning at all. At this moment, i’m trying to figure out where is the problem. Much appreciated for any suggestions. Thanks.

    But suddenly the warning appear.

    What is the warning message you see and where (in English please)?

  • Unknown's avatar

    @justjennifer

    “Warning: We noticed you have un-spammed many spam comments. The spam comments you have approved may include links to dangerous, fraudulent or obscene web sites. Approving them may harm your readers and damage your position in search engine rankings.

    Please take the time to read 5 things every blogger should know about spam, and then use the Spam button to correct any mistakes you may have made in approving comments for publication on your blog. In particular, please pay attention to the links in comments when deciding if something is or is not spam. Once you have done this (or if you think we’ve made a mistake) you can contact WordPress.com support to have this notice removed.”

    Right now, i’m already check each comment through 35 pages long. The sad thing is, it’s 177 pages long. :((

  • Unknown's avatar

    Do as the warning says. Did you read through the article on spam that is linked there so that you can learn how to recognize spam? Then you should go through the comments you approved to mark them as spam again.

    Please confirm that you have done that so I can mark this thread for Staff assistance.

    @justjennifer
    i already move some comment that gives link to unknown website to the spam trash. But still this warning exist. The problem is, many comments always include a link to a blog. Either wordpress or others. Many of them are true blogger with true content. If i have to read each comment, to regocnize the spam, i need a lot of coffe cup. :(

    OK-I’ve already tagged this for Staff help.

    Please subscribe to this thread if you haven’t already so you’ll be sent an email when they respond. You can subscribe over there in the sidebar of this thread.

    @justjennifer, Thanks so much for your help.
    i already subscribed, and any new reply will be email to me.
    Hopefully i dont have to read each comment, there are thousand of them. Again, Thanks.

    Please be patient while waiting for a staff reply. Threads marked for their assistance are usually dealt with on an “age” basis, meaning the older it is, the faster it is dealt with. Try not to bump this thread unless you have additional information for them.

    If you approved thousands of spam – then as penance you will need to read them again and mark them as spam – when you approve spam it messes up my site because Akismet is being told that spam is not spam and then more spam is approved by Akismet which means I have move comments to review

    The secret is to not approve spam in the first place

  • Unknown's avatar

    @bodats:

    i already move some comment that gives link to unknown website to the spam trash.

    You need to mark the comments again as spam, not trash them. Also, the only way you can get rid of that message is to do exactly what @auxclass recommended: go through all your comments and remark the spam as spam. Once you do that, please reply to this thread and I’ll be able to review and remove the notice.

    Going forward, approving large quantities of spam comments will result in that warning again and could lead to a suspension of your site.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    @csonnek-

    Right now, i’m already check each comment through 35 pages long. The sad thing is, it’s 177 pages long. :((

    If there are as many comments as bodats has said and which only Staff can see, I feel there should be some kind of staff intervention here. Most people coming through the forums are looking for assistance, not punishment. (Having to go through couple hundred comments would be penance; thousands is punishment.)

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Maybe I am just in a cruel mood this morning :) – – but having some way to have Akismet rescan all the comments and move the questionable ones back to the spam folder would be nice –

    WP seems to keep track of many things for Posts and Comments – is the original status one of them?
