unable to access blog

I received an email: ‘This email is to notify you that the following product(s) is set to expire on the date(s) listed: merepseud.com – 9/7/2018.’

Unfortunately, when I log into my site, I can’t find anyway to access either the purchase info or a way to access the blog’s dashboard.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

To renew those upgrades you need to be logged in as the account that owns them, merepseud.

You’re currently logged in and posting to the forums as a different account, merepseud64

Thanks. Here’s my confusion. The domain merepseud.com isn’t even owned by me anymore; my registration lapsed and is now owned by a subsidiary of GoDaddy. I don’t know why Word Press is pinging me with this renewal notice. I have no access to the blog and so have no way of responding. I don’t know the email address I used to set up the Word Press site under the merepseud username and the account recovery options require either a transaction ID, an activation URL or key, or two factor authentication codes, none of which I have.

    So I’m effectively locked out.

    Merepseud.com isn’t owned by me:

    Domain Name: MEREPSEUD.COM
    Registry Domain ID: 1958137952_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN
    Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.wildwestdomains.com
    Registrar URL: http://www.wildwestdomains.com

..and yet I received this from Word Press:

    Dear Phil Dickinson,

This email is to notify you that the following product(s) is set to expire on the date(s) listed:

    merepseud.com – 9/7/2018

ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (and/or the associated ccTLD authority), requires that we send this renewal notice before a domain’s expiration date. Please note: If auto-renew is enabled for your product(s), we’ll automatically attempt to process a renewal for you before the expiration date(s).

Hi, merepseud.com is owned by the merepseud account. Is that account still yours? That domain is registered through Wild West Domains, which is an arm of Godaddy, they are one of our registrars.

The merepseud.com is owned by the merepseud account, not by the subsidiary of Godaddy, they are only the place that the domain was registered.

What is your desire here? Do you still want to keep that domain name, or do you want to let it go along with the Premium Plan subscription that goes with it?

Many thanks for the helpful reply, and I apologize for my ignorance about the logistics of domains, hosting, etc.

My blog, at merepseud.com (never a real blog, just a place holder) is here: https://merepseud.com/

I have no way of accessing the ‘back end’ of the site to either delete or modify it. My undersanding is that the domain registration is no longer owned by me (hence my confusion about the email I got from Word Press).

I’d like to keep the merepeud.com domain (I now have hosting through A2). I’m not interested in a Word Press Premium plan.

    Thanks again.

I have two Word Press usernames (merepseud64, merepseud). The merepseud.com site is not available via either account. I’m effectively locked out of merepseud.com.

Apologies; the previous message wasn’t correct. It should read “The merepseud.com site is not available via either merepseud64 or dicktone.” I have no way of accessing my account associated with the ‘merepseud’ username.

  • You’ll need to submit the account recovery form in order to gain access to the merepseud
    user account.

Thanks, but the account recovery options require either a transaction ID, an activation URL or key, or two factor authentication codes, none of which I have.

But I did get this email, so Word Press knows I’m the blog owner.

  • Hi there,

Since you have used your credit card to purchase the domain merepseud.com and the Premium plan you can retrieve the transaction ID by following these instructions:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/#if-you-dont-have-access-to-the-receipt

Then you can include that transaction ID in the Account Recovery form and we’ll help you access that account:
