Unable to access dashboard of a blog I am logged in to

  I am trying to regain access to the dashboard of a blog I started a couple of years ago. The blog is connected to another more recent blog, but when I try to post on the old blog, it tells me that I need to be invited as a contributor, even though I am already logged in under the same username. I cannot invite myself through the more recent blog’s dashboard. I should mention when I click on “Manage my blogs”, blog number 1 doesn’t even show. Also, these two wordpress.com blogs seem to be connected to an old, independently hosted wordpress blog that doesn’t exist anymore.
  Any ideas what I can do?
