Unable to activate a theme

  Hey I was trying to activate a theme for my account but it was unsuccessful. Getting “cannot activate theme, contact support” message… What might be the issue(s). Thanks

  What theme are you trying to activate and is it only that specific theme you cannot not activate?

  Have you tried to activate the theme via wp-admin? If not, try doing it from there and let me know if you still have this error message.

  I’m having the same problem as above but I’m a complete novice with WordPress.

  It won’t let me activate any theme and just says contact support.

  I am having the same problem trying to activate the “Morden” theme. It also tells me to contact support. What do I do?

  @iluvaspenbe56280254, your site is not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the open-source WordPress.org software and it is hosted by Bluehost.

  What exactly is the error you’re seeing when you try to activate that theme? If you could include a screenshot of the error screen it would be really usefull. You can use a tool like https://snipboard.io/ to quickly take a screenshot.

  Here is the link to my screenshot. I really like the Morden Theme and would love if you can resolve this issue. Thank You so much. I will look for your response

  Go to the theme’s overview page (https://wordpress.com/theme/morden/) and scroll down to the bottom. There, you’ll find a button that’ll let you download that theme and directly upload it to your site. Please make sure to also get the Varia theme from that page as it’s needed for Morden.
