unable to activate theme contact support

    Hi there, I am trying to activate a new theme on http://www.seychellesmama.com , but whichever free theme i choose now i get the following message ‘unable to activate theme contact support’

    I changed themes earlier this morning and the theme i changed to is not working well for my site. My old theme seems to no longer be available (something fishy) so I need to try another!

    *update*
    I have been able to revert back to my original theme but I am still unable to activate any other themes and still getting the message ‘unable to activate theme contact support’

    Hello there,

    These forums are for support to sites created on WordPress.com. I can see your site is self-hosted with an external provider.

    I thought that was the case too. But whenever I login I get taken to wordpress.com am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Chantelle,

    You are able to manage that site via your WordPress.com account because you have the site connected to WordPress.com through the Jetpack plugin.

    But your site is not on our servers, doesn’t use our version of the WordPress software, and we have no control over it.

    Are you trying to change the theme via My Site ->Themes on WordPress.com, or via Appearance ->Themes in WP-Admin on your site? If the latter, you need to ask in the WordPress.org forums – if you’ve never posted there before you’ll have to create an account first, as your WordPress.com login details won’t work there.

    If the former, then it’s likely a problem with the Jetpack connection for your site:

    In that case, please try the troubleshooting steps linked to from that page, and contact Jetpack support directly if that doesn’t work.
