Unable to add image via URL option

    Hi guys,

    I’m currently trying to add images via URL from my deviantart webpage but each time I put in the URL (and I’m sure I’m going this correctly) it shows a cross sign and nothing happens.

    When I looked through the support guide section on this the example they give is an image URL from wordpress itself. So does this mean only images from wordpress pages are accepted? If that is true I think it’s a bit unfair.

    Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? And has anyone worked a way around this?

    All help is greatly appreciated as it would save me uploading each file seperately.

    WordPress.com definitely allows hotllinking from other sites. The problem is, I don’t think Deviantart allows hotlinking from their site. Photobucket and Flickr do; they were designed as photo sharing sites. But Deviantart was designed for artists to keep control of their images and make them difficult to post at other sites around the web.

    Maybe they’ve updated: double-check your settings there to make sure your images are Public and that you can hotlink to them from other sites.
