Unable to add links anymore

I have been posting (with links) almost daily (for months) and yesterday when I wrote a new post I tried to add a link as I had been and instead of a link on my post, the entire link address was inserted into my post. I tried 4 times thinking I had accidentally hit a key to “un-highlight” the phrase I wanted to link but I kept getting the same results…no inserted link, just link code in the blog post. This was only one of 2 unusual things (separate forum entry for the other issue) that happened yesterday so I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing anything strange lately?

There are some linking problems right now. First thing to try is log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.
If that doesn’t work, then when you are ready to make a link, switch to the HTML tab, highlight the text and use the “link” button in the HTML tab. That seems to work in all cases.

I’m having the same problem.Clearing the cookies has to be the path of last resort for anything nowadays so I hope WordPress sort this out soon. I’ll see if I can edit in html for now (suggestion much appreciated).
