Unable to ADD NEW plugins, please help

  I’m new to web design, bare with me.

  All I want to do is make a website that hosts the BuddyPress plugin.

  Currently I have a free WordPress.com account. It offers no option for adding plugins.

  What am I doing wrong?

  Do I need a paid account?

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  If you want a site with BuddyPress you’ll need to set up a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software. Here at WordPress.com we can’t install our own plugins. Having a paid account doesn’t change that either.
