Unable to Add New Post in other blogsite

    Hi,

    I’m having issues not being able to proceed after clicking ‘Add New Post’. Sometimes it will keep reloading and nothing appears. I’ve checked the devtools console and found some undefined reading(‘includes’) error.

    I’ve also tried other browsers including incognito browsers and checked the console returns (STOP! …This browser feature can run code that can alter your website…)

    So it’s not browser issue.
    How do I proceed to create new post?

    Usually when an issue like this occurs, it can be traced to an expired (or broken) login auth cookie stored on your local web browser. It looks like you are using Google Chrome as your browser, so with this in mind I would like you to try the following

    • clear your cache and cookies based on the steps google recommends here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
    • Also make sure you are not blocking any “3rd party cookies” as explained in that guide as well.
    • If you continue to have loading issues after completing those steps, I would like you to try another browser instead, like Firefox. Are you able to proceed if you use that browser instead?

    Thanks for the reply, however I’ve tried all the points you gave and nothing works.

    Also, I keep getting this error in the console whenever I try to click add new post in other browsers such as Firefox, Edge, Incognito

    One other factor that can cause this kind of issue is interference from certain security software installed on your computer. This includes programs like antivirus software, antimalware tools, firewalls, etc. These programs, although important for the protection of your computer, can occasionally interfere with the normal operation of websites or applications.

    As a part of our troubleshooting process, could you please try temporarily disabling any security software that you have installed on your device?

    After disabling your security software, try to reload the WordPress.com dashboard and see if you’re still experiencing the same issue.

    Hi there,

    I’ve disabled my security software and firewall but I’m still unable to add new post in wordpress. I use McAfee for security and already turned off firewall, antivirus, scanning, and some other security functions. I still get the same STOP! error in the console.

    Many thanks for reaching out.

    I can replicate the behaviour you’re seeing there. When I click Add New Post, nothing happens.

    The Stop error you’ve referenced there, is not connected to this issue.

    Instead, I believe this to be connected to these errors here:

    To explain, these are JS errors that appear when there’s a plugin that’s out of date, or wasn’t coded to perform with the latest WordPress version. It first appear around 2 years ago, but crops up now and then.

    I would recommend disabling all installed plugins and reactivating them, one by one > and seeing if a post can be added, after each activation – to see which one is causing the issue.

    This could be done on the staging site, https://en.support.wordpress.com/how-to-create-a-staging-site/ as so not to disrupt.
