Hi there,
Clearing your browser’s cache is a known fix for this type of issue. Here’s how to do it:
If this doesn’t work or you have more questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help!

Hello FSTAT
I did the steps you suggested. Unfortunately it did not help.
What else can I try ? Also should I revert back to Classic if I am using Windows XP ?
I was able to post all along using Window XP until this time.
Thank you for your time to assist me further.

Hi Chris,
If you’re using XP, it also means you’re using severely outdated versions of any browser you have installed. That ‘s why the editor is no longer working.
The code languages in which websites are created are constantly evolving and updating, and if you don’t keep your browser up to date, it reaches a point where it no longer understands the code a website uses. Website developers account for this by including fallback code that older browser can still understand, but that’s only practical up to a point, and when it comes to the WordPress editor, we’re now at a point where even that fallback code will no longer work for the browser versions you have installed.
The classic editor might still work for you, as overall it uses older technology than the block editor. But the classic editor will not exist indefinitely, so it’s not a permanent solution. That said, go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and make sure the interface setting is set to display WP-Admin pages. Then if you go to Posts or Pages you’ll have the option to use the classic editor.

Hello again
I found the WPAdmin page and I can select classic editor but the is no save settings button .
There used to be a button that said switch to classic but that seems to be gone now.
It is possible from your side as the site mangers to reset my blog site to Classic Editor so it automatically comes up that way when I log in next time ?
Thank you for your guidance .
Best regards

It’s not possible to set the classic editor as the default option. The only way to still use it is to select it manually from the WP-Admin page each time you create or edit a post/page.

Ok – thank you for all your help . I understand that I am at a dead end with my old reliable computer. I appreciate your detailed explanations.
I got the post up using a newer laptop .
Be well
Chris
