Unable to attach pics and posts are disappearing

For two days now, I’ve been unable to download pics to my blog; also, when my posts are published all content deletes itself from both saved and draft copies. Please advise?!

This is usually a connectivity or browser related issue.
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/ Have you tried using the opposite?

Really? I am having a similar problem wherein I edit a post, add an image, and when I publish, it is empty (I can go back to a saved version – with images, and recover, thankfully). This even happens if I save as draft – that is, the draft will get whacked.
Now, I am a newbie to WP, but not to programming in general. I am having trouble grokking why the browser, etc. would cause the behavior I am seeing. I am on the latest FF, BTW, but I can try Chrome. Just do not see it …
Anyway, I am just getting my feet wet to see if I want to actually give WP money – right now I am free everything and not running my own php installation or anything.
I have to say, I am unimpressed at this point. Maybe it is better if you have access to your own php and mysql database and such and can control things more easily.
But it seems to me what I have available in my dashboard is pretty primitive (hence all the plugins I saw for those hosting their own). And now with not even being able to update a post – even as a draft – … I can’t see WP getting any direct funds from me. Not that that means much… just needed to vent.
And if you can at least give me an explanation for what I am seeing, I would be grateful!

I’ve been having all sorts of wonkiness the past few days too.
I start writing in Visual mode. Add an image, but then the cursor won’t go past the picture box. So I go into HTML mode. I write a bit more. add some pictures. But since I can’t get to the bit to modify the pictures to add frames, I go back to visual mode.
Now several patches of text are centered, like the photos. The photos have lost their captions and “/caption” is in the space where the photo’s caption should be.
I put my cursor in the text under the photo and tap the button to left-justify the text and when it does, suddenly, the caption fixes itself. Well, it did once. The other time, it did not. Then the last few lines I had after the last photo just vanished altogether.
I’ve never had this sort of craziness before. It’s like there’s someone behind the curtain just screwing things up randomly to mess with me. And that’s not what I’m here for.
As I’m writing content that’s paid and not releasable yet, I can’t point you at a post, but then, that wouldn’t mater anyway, because it seems the problem is in the authoring and how the WP engine sees the need to “fix” the HTML every time you toggle back and forth between visual and HTML. I’m not hand-coding anything but I may have to resort to that just to get the work done. And that’s a PITA.

Still having the same problems here. I did everything WordPress Help Desk suggested PLUS restored everything back to the first week in the month when things were running smoothly. Now I’m getting email from my readers asking what’s up. SO not cool.

Wow. Unique “bug” today.
In my currently unpublished article, every caption jumped up one image. The alternate text for each image is correct, but the caption appearing on the page applies to the next photo down on the same page.
It’s gremlins I tell you. How else could it be so neat & orderly a mistake.

Please be sure you are using the latest stable browser version as there are those wwho are experiencing problem because they are running Chrome BETA browser versions. (BETA = buggy). You can upgrade any browser version here. http://browsehappy.com/ -

Report these issues to staff directly via your dashboard Help button. The number of related reports is troubling, and staff need to be made aware of this.

I had to end up restoring my computer to earlier in the month. It’s working a bit better, but still glitchy. This morning when I logged in, a pop-up said I was unable to connect to my dashboard.
