Unable to backup my blog by free tools (XML file).

    Hi all and sorry for my English. :)

    As I wrote here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/unable-to-export-my-contents-xml-file time ago, I can’t export my blog in the XML file.

    Anyway, in the past I was able to backup using a second account administrator, now it’s impossible completely.

    This time I don’t receive any errors. After I select the (free) tool to export all the contents, I have to wait some times, then I reach a blank page. The address in the bar is the “long string” to backup, but I don’t receive the “pop-up” window to save the file.
    The browser I’m using is Firefox 26.0 (latest version).
    Last time we thought the problem could be too much tags, but – anyway and as I said just before – in the past I succeeded to backup, not with “my” administrator, but using another account administrator. Now, all it’s impossible.

    In particular, I can’t realize no backup even if I try to select the single element. I mean: I tried to backup only post, but it was impossible, too.

    Backup just downloaded and tested (by 7zip): everything is ok!

    Next time I’ll need to backup “my” blog, how could I do without causing too much trouble?

    Your export link in your Dashboard should work for you. Occasionally blogs are too big to download as a single file, however, so if you keep running into this issue you might try creating an export file of only recent content rather than your entire blog.

    However, if you need help again, just let us know.

    I’ll try in the future to backup “my” own blog, but I’m afraid I’ll have the same problem.
    Using the export free tool I tried to backup only posts, but it was impossible.
    I suppose the issue is just there: too many posts and tags for these.

    Anyway, I’ll be back here if necessary. :)
