Unable to bulk delete posts

I’m trying to bulk delete my posts, but because there is so many, I seem to keep having problems. Is there an easier way to do this?

If you go to your blog’s general settings, you should be able to bulk delete. (The URL is usually <https://yourblogname.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php>)
Click on the Posts category and you should be able to bulk delete from there.

That’s where I’ve been doing it from, but it literally (I’ve timed it) takes a minute to delete ten posts. I see that there is an option to view up to 999 posts on a single page and bulk delete those posts, but that doesn’t work for me because apparently it’s too many? So I’ve tried 100, but even that doesn’t work. I don’t understand why I wouldn’t be able to delete that many posts at a time if I’m given the option to do so.

EDIT: I have about 28,000 posts. This is an old account from 2014 and I was using IFTTT to crosspost tumblr posts to wordpress but now I want to start over.

I need help with this as well. I’m emailing the support desk to see if they can just delete all the content so I can start fresh.
